Vivero Cardal Árboles Nativos

El Vivero Cardal Árboles Nativos, es un proyecto del Programa de Pequeñas Donaciones del MVOTMA, financiado por el Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial  (FMAM).

Silvia, Marianela,  Miriam, María, Virginia, Gerald y Washington, llevan adelante el Vivero Cardal, de forma voluntaria, con el propósito de generar almácigos de especies nativas propias de la zona, que aporten a la restauración de los ecosistemas de la Cuenca del Río Santa Lucía Chico en las márgenes del embalse de la presa de Severino.

El gusto por las plantas, el rescatar las especies nativas, generar conciencia ambiental y ayudar a purificar el agua que abastece a casi la mitad de la población del país, es algo que los une como grupo.

“Lo tomé como uno de los propósitos de vida; saber que ese plantín va a ser para purificar el agua, cuando ves a los niños liberar las plantas en el embalse de la presa, me llena de orgullo; son verdaderas caricias para el alma. Que una sola persona haga el clic, que entienda que tiene que cuidar el medio ambiente, por ella y por su familia porque es el legado, ya me hace sentir que aporté mi granito de arena” expresa María.

The Cardal Native Trees Nursery is a project of the MVOTMA Small Grants Program, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Silvia, Marianela, Miriam, María, Virginia, Gerald and Washington, carry out the Cardal Nursery, voluntarily, with the purpose of generating seedbeds of native species native to the area, which contribute to the restoration of the ecosystems of the Basin of the Santa Lucía Chico River on the banks of the reservoir of the Severino dam.

The taste for plants, rescuing native species, generating environmental awareness and helping to purify the water that supplies nearly half of the country's population is something that unites them as a group.

"I took it as one of the purposes of life; to know that this seedling will be to purify the water, when you see the children releasing the plants in the reservoir of the dam, it fills me with pride; they are true caresses for the soul. That a single person click, that understands that you have to take care of the environment, for her and her family because it is the legacy, and makes me feel that I contributed my bit", says Maria.
